Every model comparison, with its 1-year difference
Every comparison page ETFIQ publishes: 3 allocation ETFs, each against the ETFIQ benchmark for its stock-share band, and 5 band pages, each setting five ETFIQ benchmarks against ETFIQ Strategic at the same stock share. Each row gives the 1-year difference in points.
In the year to Sep 30, 2026, 1 of 2 allocation ETFs with a full year beat their matched ETFIQ benchmark.
One sentence, recomputed every trading night. A benchmark is a rule, not a recommendation.

25 benchmarks on 5 band pages, against ETFIQ Strategic
A written rule over broad, low-cost ETFs, frozen on Oct 3, 2026, with its weights, calendar and returns on its own page. Figures before Oct 5, 2026 are hypothetical: today’s rule and funds applied to earlier prices. Total returns are market price with distributions reinvested, net of each fund’s own fees, with nothing else deducted. The price source does not carry funds that closed before 2016, so nothing here is free of survivorship bias. Methodology v1.3 →
Questions people ask about the model comparisons
- What does a model comparison page compare?
- An allocation ETF’s page sets it against ETFIQ Strategic at the stock share of its band: returns, fees, risk and growth of $10,000. A band’s page sets five ETFIQ benchmarks against ETFIQ Strategic at the same stock share.
- What is the 1-year difference?
- The portfolio’s 1-year total return minus its benchmark’s, both as printed, in percentage points. A positive figure means the portfolio returned more.
- Can I invest in an ETFIQ benchmark?
- No. A benchmark is a published yardstick, not a fund, and ETFIQ publishes no trades for any of them. It takes no payment from the issuer of any fund a benchmark holds.
- Why are some returns hypothetical?
- Each family’s rule is frozen on a stated date. Returns before it apply today’s rule and funds to earlier prices, which is look-ahead; returns from it are tracked. The price source does not carry funds that closed before 2016, so nothing here is free of survivorship bias.
