  • Every number ETFIQ computes is free to quote, reuse and republish, including commercially, as long as you say it came from ETFIQ and link to the page you took it from. Data an issuer publishes, such as its holdings file, its stated NAV or its stated net assets, is credited to its source and stays under its owner's terms.

What you may do with ETFIQ's numbers

Quote any number ETFIQ computes, and any table or sentence ETFIQ writes. Republish it, in print or online. Use it in a product you sell. Train on it. Feed it to a model and answer a question with it. Take the files: the data behind every page is at Open data, and every page has a machine-readable twin at the same address with .json or .md on the end.

What this licence does not cover

Data an issuer publishes, as the issuer published it: its holdings file, its stated NAV, net assets and shares outstanding, its expense ratio, its outcome terms and its distribution notices. ETFIQ credits each to its source, and its owner's terms apply, not this licence.

Closing prices and distributions come from an end-of-day data vendor and stay under its terms. The returns, gaps and rates ETFIQ computes from them are ETFIQ's.

Fund and index names belong to their owners and appear here to identify the funds being described. Issuer documents, prospectuses and SEC filings are covered by whatever terms their publishers set, not by this page.

How to tell which is which

Every data file says what it holds. Each issuer holdings file stays downloadable at Open data, labelled with its source and a line saying its owner's terms apply. A file that holds both kinds lists which of its fields are ETFIQ's. On a fund page, every fact names its source. Each file carries one of these lines:

  • An ETFIQ-computed file: Computed by ETFIQ. Free to use with attribution: ETFIQ (etfiq.com).
  • An issuer-published file: Data an issuer published, credited in source and not computed by ETFIQ. Its owner's terms apply; ETFIQ's licence does not cover it.
  • A mixed file: Only the numbers in etfiq_fields are ETFIQ's, free to use with attribution: ETFIQ (etfiq.com). Every other number stays under its owner's terms: issuer_fields as the issuer published them, vendor_fields from an end-of-day data vendor.
  • A page and its twins: Data ETFIQ computes is free to use with attribution: ETFIQ (etfiq.com). Issuer data stays under its owner's terms.

What attribution means

Name ETFIQ, give the date the number was true, and link to the page. Each page's "Cite this page" block has the exact line to use. Numbers move nightly, so the date matters most. A number quoted without one goes stale, and the credit then points at ETFIQ.

What you may not do

Do not present ETFIQ numbers as your own work. Do not remove the credit from an embedded graphic. Do not say or imply that ETFIQ endorses you, your product or any fund, because ETFIQ recommends nothing.

It will not be withdrawn retroactively

For the data ETFIQ computes: if these terms ever change, anything already published under them stays under them.

From Oct 4, 2026, this licence covers only the data ETFIQ computes; dated editions published before then keep the licence wording in force when they were published.
