Exact rules
  1. Each month hold the three of nine US sectors that gained most over six months.
  2. A rule reads the close of the last trading day of the month and trades at the next close.
  3. The universe is 9 funds; the benchmark is SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY).
  4. It is checked at each month end.
What we cannot measure
  • Communications and Real estate sector funds (XLC, XLRE) are left out because their histories start in 2018 and 2015: a window every fund covers.
  • Taxes on each rotation.
