What is ETF concentration?

Share
In short
  • As of Nov 4, 2026, the top ten holdings are a median 50% of a theme ETF and 36% of a stock ETF.

In plain words

Concentration is how much of a fund sits in a few holdings. A fund with 500 stocks but 40% in its top ten is more concentrated than the count implies, so the usual test is the top-ten share.

Theme funds are the most concentrated: the median has 50% in its top ten, against 36% for a stock ETF and 15% for a bond ETF. 50% of 406 theme funds put half or more into ten names. A concentrated fund moves more with its leaders, raising gains and losses alike. Every fund page shows the weight with its holdings date.
