Which ETFs pay monthly?

167 of the 371 option-income ETFs ETFIQ tracks pay every month. Paying monthly says nothing about how much arrives or whether a holder came out ahead: it is a schedule, not a return.

Monthly is the common cadence because the options these funds write expire monthly, so the premium arrives on that rhythm. A weekly payer writes weekly options; a quarterly payer is usually holding shares rather than writing against them.

The rate below annualizes the latest distribution at the current price. It is what the last payment would come to over a year if it repeated twelve times, which it need not: these amounts move with option premiums, and premiums move with volatility.

The figure worth reading beside it is total return, which counts the cash and the price together. A fund can pay 40% a year and still leave a holder behind the index it writes against.
