- As of Nov 4, 2026, ETFIQ gives an IQ Score to 1,625 ETFs, each a percentile from 0 to 100 inside one of 23 named sets of comparable funds.
In plain words
An IQ Score is a number from 0 to 100 placing a fund among comparable funds on one measure. It is a percentile: a score of 70 means the fund ranked ahead of about 70% of its set; 100 is the top.
There is one score per category, never one across them. A buffer fund is scored on how much of a 20% fall its buffer absorbs; an income fund on how much of its cash paid it kept as total return. Each score names its set and shows both ends, and can move when the set moves. Every score can be reproduced from the published data file.
Questions
- What does a score of 70 mean?
The fund ranked ahead of about 70% of the funds in its set on that one measure.
- Why is there no overall score?
A buffer fund and a bond fund do different jobs. One number across them would mislead.
- Can I check a score?
Yes. The scores data file lists every input.
