That is why the same ticker can look generous in January and exhausted in November.\n The buffer resets too. If the index fell during the period and used part of the buffer, the fund starts the next period with the whole buffer and fresh terms struck at the new level.\n Option prices set the cap, so it moves with volatility. A calm market gives lower caps.
