## Privacy

Reading ETFIQ needs no account. This page says what ETFIQ records about how the site is used, what it keeps when you sign up or sign in, why, for how long, who sees it, and how to opt out or delete it.

### Reading the site

No account and no sign-in is needed to read. ETFIQ runs no advertising network and no advertising script. GitHub and Cloudflare serve the files and keep ordinary web server logs, such as the address requested and the time.

### What ETFIQ records about how the site is used

ETFIQ records what readers research on the site. It uses this to learn which funds, categories and tools matter to readers, and to improve the site. It sets no cookie for this and keeps no IP address.

A small script on each page sends ETFIQ's own server a short report of what you do there:

- the page you view, and the fund, category, issuer, theme or pair of funds it is about

- the campaign tag on the link you arrived by (utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign)

- what you type in a site search, and how many results it showed

- the screener filters you set and the column you sort by

- the files you download, such as a CSV, a PDF or a client brief

- links you follow to the SEC, to a fund issuer or to another site, by the site's name only

- on fund pages, how far down the page you scroll, in quarters

- when you open a chart's embed code

Each report also has the day and time. It has no IP address, no browser details and no device ID.

To count how many different people visit in a day, the server mixes your IP address and browser name with a random code made for that day. It keeps the result for that day only. At the end of the day the count is kept, and the random code and the results are deleted, so they cannot be traced back to anyone.

The same daily result also counts what a visit leads to: the kind of page you arrived on, and whether you then used a tool, asked Ask IQ, signed in or saved something. It holds no page, search or account, only those steps. It is counted and deleted with the day's random code, so no two days can be joined.

ETFIQ charts that other sites embed are counted too. ETFIQ records the chart and the name of the site showing it, not who viewed it.

Automated visits are not recorded. ETFIQ also counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie.

### How long it is kept

Each report is kept for 13 months and then deleted. Daily totals, such as views of a fund or searches that found nothing, are kept longer. They name no one.

### If you are signed in

When you are signed in to Ask IQ, these reports are tied to your account. ETFIQ builds an interest profile from them: the funds, categories, issuers and asset classes you research most, how often, and how recently. It also uses your watchlist, saved models, saved screens and saved comparisons, and the funds and topics of your Ask IQ questions.

The profile is rebuilt at most once a day. It is deleted when you turn profiling off or delete your account.

If you are not a verified financial advisor, ETFIQ uses your profile only to show it to you and in totals across many readers. ETFIQ's reports never list you by name.

### Financial advisors

If you tell us you are a financial advisor, and the IQ Network has checked your CRD number against the SEC's adviser records, your profile is used as yours. ETFIQ and AdvisorIQ are run by one entity, the IQ Network. Within it, your profile helps choose which AdvisorIQ emails and sessions to offer you.

If you register for a sponsored AdvisorIQ session, ETFIQ shares your research on ETFIQ with that session's sponsor: the funds, categories and issuers you look at and the topics of your Ask IQ questions, never the questions themselves. It goes to that sponsor only. Advisors who have not registered for a sponsored session are never shared with a sponsor.

To stop it, turn on Do not share my details with sponsors in your AdvisorIQ privacy choices. You can still register and earn CE credit.

An advisor whose CRD number has not been checked is treated like any other reader.

### What stays on your device

The funds you follow, saved portfolios, your chosen window and theme are kept in your own browser storage. They are never sent to ETFIQ and are not visible to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes them. Comparisons, screens and models you save to your account are the exception. ETFIQ keeps those, as described below.

### The weekly note

ETFIQ keeps your email address, any tickers you ask to follow, the page you signed up from, and the dates you signed up, confirmed and unsubscribed. It also keeps a record of which notes were sent to that address, so none goes out twice.

These are used to send the weekly note and nothing else. Nothing is sent until you confirm from the link in the first email. They are kept in ETFIQ's list database on Cloudflare, and the email is sent through Resend.

Every note has an unsubscribe link. It stops all mail at once. ETFIQ then keeps the address marked as unsubscribed, so a form cannot add it again by mistake. To have it deleted, write to data@etfiq.com .

### Ask IQ

Ask IQ is an AI assistant. It needs an email sign-in after two free questions. ETFIQ keeps your email address and the dates you first and last signed in. A sign-in link is stored as a scrambled code and deleted a day after it expires. A sign-in lasts 30 days and uses one cookie, sent only to Ask IQ. Signing out ends it at once.

ETFIQ keeps the text of each question for 90 days, without your email address. It uses it to improve answers and to learn which funds readers research. After 90 days the text is deleted.

ETFIQ also keeps what each question looked up: the funds, categories, issuers and asset classes, and the benchmark used. It keeps the day, how the answer ended and how long it took. These are kept for one year with a scrambled user code, never with your email address. If you rate an answer up or down, ETFIQ keeps the rating with the question for one year. You can change it.

ETFIQ does not keep the answers or the earlier turns of a conversation. Your browser tab does. It keeps the size and cost of each call to the AI model, to hold a monthly spending cap.

Readers who are not verified advisors are counted only in totals with other readers. If you are a financial advisor whose CRD number the IQ Network has verified, ETFIQ keeps which funds and categories you research with your account, as described under Financial advisors above. CE credit never depends on sharing it with a sponsor.

Your question, and the earlier turns of that conversation, are sent to Anthropic so its Claude model can write the answer. Anthropic handles them under its own terms. It receives a scrambled user code, not your email address. Do not type private details into a question. To limit abuse, ETFIQ keeps a scrambled form of your IP address for a short time, never the address itself.

Before you sign in, Ask IQ counts your two free questions with one cookie holding a random code and a count, and keeps a scrambled form of that code and the count for 90 days, with no IP address.

### Client briefs and saved comparisons

A comparison page can give you a two-page client brief as a PDF, and lets you save the comparison. Both use the same email sign-in as Ask IQ. Reading the comparison needs no sign-in.

The sign-in link also remembers which comparison you were on and whether you clicked Download or Save, so it can return you there. That is kept with the link, for 15 minutes and then for a day before it is deleted.

When you save a comparison, ETFIQ keeps the two funds, the day you saved it and the brief version, which is the report ID printed on the PDF. Your Saved page lists them. Removing one there deletes it.

### Saved screens and your watchlist

Signed in, you can save a screener screen and keep a watchlist of funds. ETFIQ keeps the screen's filters and its name, or each fund and the day you added it, with your account. Your Saved page lists them. Removing one there deletes it. Every figure stays free to read without signing in.

Signed in, you can also save a model you built in the model builder or with Ask IQ. ETFIQ keeps its name, its funds and weights, the ETFIQ benchmark it was set beside, the day you saved it, and the closing figures it was saved against. Its figures are worked out from public prices each time you look, and are not stored. Your Saved page lists your models. Removing one there deletes it. Deleting your data, below, deletes your saved models with the rest.

If you turn on your watchlist's Monday email, ETFIQ keeps that choice and the day you made it. The weekly email list reads your watchlist when it sends the Monday flows report and adds your funds' week to it. It goes only to an address that confirmed the weekly list from its own email. Turn it off on your Saved page, or unsubscribe from any email. Deleting your data, below, deletes your saved screens and watchlist with the rest.

After your first download, ETFIQ may ask if you are a financial advisor, an individual investor or another professional. The question is optional and you can skip it. ETFIQ keeps your answer as you gave it, with your account. The answer alone is not checked. An advisor is treated as one only once the IQ Network has checked their CRD number, as above.

### What ETFIQ counts about briefs

ETFIQ counts four things: a brief preview was seen, a download was asked for, a download finished, and a comparison was saved. Each count has the pair of funds, the brief version and the time.

For a signed-in reader the count is tied to the account. For a reader who is not signed in it is tied to a random code your browser makes for one tab and forgets when the tab closes. ETFIQ keeps no IP address, browser details or device ID with a count, and does not count automated visits.

Counts for readers who are not signed in are deleted after 90 days. Counts tied to an account are deleted after 400 days, or sooner if the account is deleted. Saved comparisons stay until you remove them or the account is deleted.

ETFIQ uses the counts to learn how many people use the briefs.

### The data server for AI tools

mcp.etfiq.com lets AI tools look up ETFIQ figures. For each call it records the tool used, whether it answered and how long it took. It records no address, key or request content. It holds a caller's address in memory for one minute to stop runaway loops.

### Who sees it

ETFIQ does not sell or rent personal data, and takes no payment for it. A fund issuer gets none of it, except the sponsor of a session a verified advisor registers for, as above. Otherwise it goes only to the services that run ETFIQ: Cloudflare for servers and storage, Resend for email, and Anthropic for Ask IQ answers. A verified advisor's profile is also used by AdvisorIQ, within the IQ Network, for its emails.

### Your choices

Don't track my research. Turn tracking off in this browser here, on the Ask IQ page, or with the link at the foot of every page. It sets one cookie, etfiq_notrack, which means no. While it is there, the page sends nothing and the server records nothing. It lasts two years, or until you clear your cookies.

Don't track my research · Track my research again

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, ETFIQ records nothing for it. You need do nothing else.

Signed in. You can stop profiling for your account. Your profile is deleted, and your past reports stay only as counts with no link to you. Pages you read are still counted that way, unless you also turn tracking off.

### Your rights

You can opt out, see your data, and delete it.

- Opt out. Use Don't track my research above, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.

- See your data. Signed in, download everything tied to your account from this page as one file. Or write to data@etfiq.com from the address concerned.

- Delete your data. Signed in, use Delete my data on this page. It deletes your account and everything tied to it at once: sign-in records, reports, profile, saved research, watchlist, brief counts and Ask IQ questions. Spending records keep only their cost, with no link to you. Or write to data@etfiq.com .

The weekly email list is kept apart. Unsubscribe from any email, or write to data@etfiq.com and ETFIQ will delete you from it too.

If you are not signed in, what ETFIQ records is not tied to you, so there is nothing to find or delete. Turning tracking off stops it.

### Data about funds

Everything ETFIQ publishes is about funds, not about people: issuer disclosures, filings with the SEC and exchange prices. See Standards for the sources and Open data for the files.

### Children

ETFIQ is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

### Changes and questions

Material changes will be noted here with the date. On Oct 19, 2026, this page added what ETFIQ records about how the site is used, interest profiles for signed-in readers, what the sponsor of an AdvisorIQ session you register for receives, and how to opt out, see or delete your data.
