## How are ETF flows measured?

Data as of Nov 3, 2026. Rebuilt every trading night.

As of Nov 3, 2026, ETFIQ has a one-month flow for 694 of 5,068 ETFs, covering 43% of net assets, and every flow carries its own dates.

### In plain words

A flow is not reported directly. It is the change in a fund’s share count times its value per share: shares up by 1 million at $50 each means $50 million flowed in.

Issuers publish share counts on their own schedule. ETFIQ reads them daily where published, and monthly from SEC filings otherwise. Only 694 of 5,068 funds have a one-month reading today, covering 43% of net assets. A flow of 90% or more of a fund’s assets in one day is held out of every total until a second source agrees, because it is usually a data error.

### Questions

Why is coverage only part of the market? Not every issuer publishes daily share counts. ETFIQ adds funds as their data arrives.

Is a flow the same as a trade? No. A flow is the net of creation and redemption, not the volume traded on the exchange.

Are flows exact? They are estimates from share counts and values, each dated.
