## Do ETFs deliver what they promise?

Data as of Nov 4, 2026. Rebuilt every trading night.

As of Nov 4, 2026, 68.0% of 1,755 measured US ETFs delivered on their own category’s promise, and they cover 98.0% of measured net assets.

### In plain words

Every category makes a promise: buffer funds protection, income funds income without eroding value, leveraged funds a daily multiple, bond funds a duration and credit mix. The ETFIQ Promise Index tests each fund against its own promise: delivered, partly or missed.

Of 1,755 funds measured, 1,193 delivered, 290 delivered partly and 272 missed; those that delivered account for 98.0% of measured net assets. The index leads with the share of funds, because a few large funds can hide many misses. Funds that cannot be tested yet are counted and left out. A result is a fact about one period, not a prediction.

### Questions

What does delivered mean? The fund did what its category says it does over the test period, within a stated gap.

Is the Promise Index a score? No. It is a check with three results, never a 0 to 100 score.

Where do I see a fund’s result? On its fund page as a Promise check badge, with the gap behind it.
